Les Alchimistes
Le Phare, 6 rue Arnold Géreaux, L'Île-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, 93450, France
Overview
Les Alchimistes operates a national network convening local entrepreneurs to collect, prepare and compost biodéchets from restaurants, canteens and households. Founded in 2016 in Île-de-France, the group has expanded to multiple large French agglomerations and is present in Lyon since 2020 following the acquisition of Les Détrivores (created in 2018). Its Vénissieux platform processes about 3,000 tonnes of biodéchets per year (roughly half from professionals and half from households via 500 community composting points), with 700 tonnes treated on site and the remainder prepared for partner platforms. The company is opening additional reception and composting platforms to increase treatment capacity regionally, including a planned Oullins site able to process 6,000 tonnes annually and employing around twenty people. The network aims to be present on 30 territories by 2027 so cities over 200,000 inhabitants have local composting solutions, and projects that expansion could create over 800 jobs. The recent €10M fundraising will finance platform openings, logistics and market studies to deploy further sites in other agglomerations.
