Link Therapeutics, founded in October 2022, is developing medical devices and pharmaceuticals aimed at removing pathogenic autoantibodies identified in patients with conditions like ulcerative colitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis. The company leverages research from Kyoto University’s Department of Gastroenterology implicating anti-integrin αvβ6 antibodies in disease pathogenesis. Its proprietary technology is designed to simultaneously remove pathogenic autoantibodies and the cells that produce them, which the company expects will be effective for patients who do not respond to existing treatments. The funds from the Series B will be used for preclinical and clinical trial preparations for both medical devices and pharmaceuticals targeting ulcerative colitis, and to expand the pipeline into additional autoantibody-driven diseases. MUFG Medical Fund will support early product commercialization and previously invested in Link Therapeutics’ Series A in February 2023. The company plans to continue fundraising through this Series B effort to advance its development programs.
