Lisaqua
21 Rue Marcel Schwob, Nantes, Pays de la Loire, 44100, France
Overview
Founded in 2018 by Charlotte Schoelinck and Gabriel Boneu, Lisaqua operates a pilot on-land shrimp farm in Saint-Herblain that has been active since 2022. The company uses systems of natural filtration to raise shrimp without antibiotics or sulfites while reducing resource consumption and avoiding impacts on tropical mangroves and coastal ecosystems. Lisaqua completed an equity raise of more than €9M in H2 2025 and has now secured €14.5M in bank financing to scale. The funding package includes a €10.5M Blue Loan and a €4M Prêt Nouvelle Industrie from Bpifrance. Proceeds will finance construction of an industrial farm in Monthyon, Seine-et-Marne, slated to begin operations at the end of 2026. The new site is expected to produce about 100 tonnes of shrimp per year.
