Look Up builds a global radar network (SORASYS) and digital platforms such as SYNAPSE to detect and analyse orbital objects and offer Space-Operations-as-a-Service. Founded in 2022 by Michel Friedling and Juan Carlos Dolado Perez, the company already operates a high-precision radar in France and plans two more in French Polynesia. Its full-stack solution also ties into the EU-backed ATLAS2 programme for automated low-Earth orbit safety. The startup had over 60 employees as of June 2025 and plans to reach 100 by year-end. Planned uses of the new funding include deploying additional radar units, launching a space operations centre, accelerating international expansion, and validating its service model with an in-orbit demonstration. Look Up positions itself to meet rising demand for coordinated space traffic management from public and private operators and to strengthen European sovereignty in space surveillance. Look Up Space is developing a global space-surveillance solution based on a worldwide network of radars and an innovative platform for massive fusion and processing of multi-source data. Its systems are designed to provide permanent, real-time, atmosphere-insensitive and precise surveillance capable of detecting centimeter-class objects. The company is building the SORASYS space-surveillance radar demonstrator and the SYNAPSE multi-source data fusion and processing platform, with plans to complete development by the end of 2024. Look Up Space targets institutional and private, civil and military customers with space security data and services. Led by Michel Friedling and Juan Carlos Dolado and based in Toulouse, the company will have more than 20 employees by September 1 drawn from French and European space and digital organisations, CNES and the French Ministry of the Armed Forces. It recently raised €14M (€7M private, €7M public subsidies) to support product development.
