1100 Sycamore Street 7th Floor, Cincinnati, OH, 45202, United States
Overview
Losant provides an easy-to-use enterprise IoT platform that helps teams quickly and securely build complex real-time connected solutions. The platform uses open communication standards to provide connectivity from one to millions of devices and offers data collection, aggregation, and visualization features. Edge capabilities are integrated directly into the platform for seamless integration of connected and non-connected devices, and Losant offers experienced solution engineers to assist customers. Customers cited in the article include Verizon, Bosch, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and common use cases include industrial equipment monitoring, asset tracking, and smart buildings. Financially, Losant announced a $5.2 million Series A financing led by CincyTech with participation from Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed fund, TechNexus, and Vine Street Ventures. Losant provides an Internet of Things platform that enables developers to build complex, connected solutions quickly and easily. The platform simplifies connecting a variety of hardware and sensors using open-source SDKs and widely adopted communication protocols, streams device data to dashboards or the Losant API, and enables real-time analysis and actions via a built-in workflow engine. Losant says it is already working with a number of Fortune 500 companies. Founders Charlie Key and Brandon Cannaday, who previously co‑founded Modulus (acquired by Progress Software in 2014), lead the company and are headquartered in Cincinnati. CincyTech has made an investment in Losant from its Fund IV, and company leadership said the capital and engagement from CincyTech will support the company's trajectory. Terms of the investment were not disclosed; Losant is the sixth company to receive investment from CincyTech Fund IV, a $30.75M fund that closed in April.
