Lumense is an Atlanta-based developer of real-time, in situ chemical and biological sensors that continuously measure the content of gases and liquids. Its sensors are designed to monitor quality content of raw materials, production conditions, and finished goods. Led by CEO Mike Slawson, the company offers a platform and initial products aimed at continuous quality control. Lumense closed a $2.65M Series B, with the funds intended to move its platform and initial products into volume production. The Series B was led by the GRA Venture Fund and The Coca-Cola Company, with participation from existing backers and unnamed new investors. Intelligent Systems Corporation had provided Series A funding in 2012.
