Maculaser develops a temperature-controlled, non-damaging retinal laser therapy intended to treat age-related macular degeneration and other retinal diseases. The company plans to use the new funding to advance the therapy into clinical studies. Its stated aim is to enable earlier disease control to prevent irreversible retinal damage. The financing includes both equity from investors and non-dilutive R&D support from Business Finland. Investors in the latest round include ZEISS Ventures, M2care, Innovestor, Metsola Ventures and other existing shareholders. Since founding, Maculaser has raised a total of EUR 7.6 million.
