Mainframe is a Finnish-Icelandic studio building an unannounced cloud-native MMO. The company was formed in April 2019 by veterans from CCP, Remedy and Next Games and is led by CEO Thor Gunnarsson. Mainframe operates studios in Helsinki and Reykjavik and designs and builds its game in-house. The studio raised €7.6m in a Series A funding round. In conjunction with the financing, Ilkka Kivimäki joined Mainframe’s board as chairman. The company intends to use the funds to continue expanding operations in Helsinki and Reykjavik.
