Makeup is an online retailer of perfume and cosmetics launched in 2009. Its website lists more than 200,000 items from over 2,000 suppliers. The company sells beyond Ukraine in about a dozen European countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Hungary and Italy. Makeup’s parent company is registered in Cyprus. The business was valued at $43.5 million after a new investment in which Horizon Capital reportedly invested $8 million for an 18% stake. Major shareholders include co‑founders Yevgeny Malev (48%), Sergey Volobuyev (32%) and banker Igor Mazepa (2%).
