Mantra Health operates a virtual mental health clinic focused on college and university students in the U.S., combining clinical services with software and design. Its program is deployed on 52 campuses and the company aims to reach more than 20 million university and college students through partnerships with higher-education institutions and health insurance plans. Mantra equips campus counseling offices with a dedicated psychiatry or therapy provider who works exclusively with the school, positioning itself as a digital extension rather than a replacement of on-campus counseling. The company is in-network with payers including Optum and Cigna and has launched an insurance referral pilot to route care through students’ insurance. Founded in 2018, Mantra has raised nearly $28 million to date and will use the latest funding to quadruple its team over the next 12 months while investing in its virtual provider group and clinical capabilities. It also plans to introduce new digital-first treatments, add specialties, expand its payment mix, and scale a diversity scholarship supporting marginalized individuals pursuing mental-health-related degrees.
