Maple Media is a Los Angeles company that pursues a consolidation strategy to buy and grow consumer mobile apps across gaming, productivity, and entertainment verticals. The company was founded by Michael Ritter, a former Jam City business development executive, and Clark Landry, a longtime angel investor. Maple Media intends to build verticals and use marketing and business-development muscle to increase ad pricing across its app network, and it will pursue acquisitions across geographies with a focus on English-speaking countries and Europe. It is willing to take full-control positions, minority equity stakes, or revenue-sharing partnerships with app developers. The firm says it will spend on target apps anywhere from five figures to middle-eight figures. According to a release, Maple Media already operates 150 applications, delivers more than one billion monthly mobile advertising impressions, and is already profitable.
