Masterbranch aggregates developers' open-source and non-open-source work to make coding experience tangible and comparable for employers by linking online profiles/CVs to projects across multiple code hosts. The platform indexes and analyzes code from SourceForge, Apache, CodePlex, Google Code and GitHub to surface real projects on a developer's résumé. It has indexed and analyzed 500,000 projects from 350,000 programmer profiles and reports 6,000 active users, with a geographic spread including 21% USA, 12% Spain, 8% China, 5.7% Brazil, 4.2% Argentina and 4.2% Russia. Masterbranch already works with leading brand names that access its database free of charge. The new funding will be used to invest in qualitative analysis of profiles, grow the user base, and pivot toward monetization via monthly job posts, freemium, subscription and credit packages for searching, reviewing and contacting candidates. The company was founded by Ignacio Andreu Dolset and Juan Luis Belmonte.
