Matera

36 Rue de Saint-Pétersbourg, Paris, Ile-de-France, 75008, France

Overview

Matera builds a vertical SaaS platform for residential property management, offering a web-based platform and mobile app where co-owners can view contracts, budgets, and building information. The product includes access to residential building experts who help ensure legal compliance and file paperwork, plus tools to run annual co-owner meetings and communicate with owners. In October 2020 Matera launched a service to manage buildings' bank accounts so co-owners can pay directly through the platform and track budgets over time. The service targets smaller buildings (around 10–15 apartments) where there are fewer relationships and bills to manage. Matera says the crisis accelerated adoption of its model and positions the company to provide more transparency and cost savings to co-owners. With the new funding it plans to expand into Germany and scale its operations. Matera offers a web-based SaaS platform designed for co-owners who choose to manage their residential buildings themselves, centralizing communication, documentation, and legal compliance. The product includes accounts for each co-owner, tools to write compliant reports, and features to collect and track payments and handle accounting. Matera also manages contracts with service partners (elevator, heating, cleaning, utilities, insurance) and provides an address book and tools to switch providers. The company can connect users with legal, accounting, insurance, and construction experts when needed. Matera has attracted 1,000 residential buildings representing 25,000 users and plans to expand to Belgium, Spain, Italy, and Germany. With the new funding the company plans to hire 100 people. illiCopro provides a safe, intuitive condo management platform that lets resident councils run building administration in about two hours per month. The platform includes accounting and legal forms, online access to balances and documents, marketplaces for service providers, and a forum for resident communication. It charges €7 per month per apartment and currently oversees 300 condominiums covering more than 6,000 apartments that were previously managed by professional administrators. The company emphasizes a mix of technology and human support and plans to expand its sales team and hire specialists to handle payment, insurance, legal, and accounting questions. illiCopro’s team is 15 people today and the company expects to double headcount this year to support growth. The startup aims to reach 1,000 clients in 2019.
