Mathison
6121 W Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, 90028, United States
Overview
Mathison positions itself as the world’s first DEI Operating System, offering employers a single platform to build DEI action plans, measure growth, and mobilize teams with education and tools. The product integrates into employers’ existing systems and combines DEI measurement, benchmarking and reporting with diversity sourcing, training and workflow tools and a comprehensive leadership dashboard. Mathison reports sourcing over 50,000 underrepresented candidates, supporting the development of hundreds of equitable talent policies across 30+ industries, and engaging more than 10,000 employees in DEI training. Customers named in the release include Sonos, TripAdvisor, 23andMe, HelloFresh, Bowery Farms, Bristol Myers Squibb, Sundance Film and the World Economic Forum. The company highlights its own management composition—50% women, 72% working parents and 50% people of color—as reflective of its mission. Mathison says it will use new funding to expand data and analytics capabilities, scale its go-to-market team, and increase its collective impact with employers. Mathison operates a talent marketplace that sources workers from nonprofit workforce-development agencies and professional membership groups to help companies hire from underrepresented communities. The platform lets individuals sign up, self-identify, paste LinkedIn information, and be invited via AI that identifies candidates in partner communities. Companies can search and filter candidates by race, sexual orientation, incarceration history, disability, refugee or veteran status, and by community-group affiliations. Users can retain privacy and only release their name and photo after a company expresses interest, enabling Mathison to capture diversity data without outing people who are uncomfortable. Mathison generates revenue through company subscription fees and placement fees, and donates a portion of placement fees back to the communities the hires came from. The company reports over 50 clients (including Accenture, Bristol Myers Squibb, Charles Schwab, Casper, and HelloFresh), has 15 employees (having doubled in the last two months), and says demand has risen sharply in the past 90 days.
