1535 Ogden St NW, Washington, DC, 20010, United States
Overview
Meaningful Gigs operates a marketplace that links freelance designers across Africa with remote assignments from U.S. multinationals such as Coca-Cola, Audi, Vans and IDEO. The platform vets designers through test projects and has matched thousands of designers from over a dozen African countries with clients. The startup currently serves about 40 corporate clients, 17 of which are major enterprises, and plans an aggressive marketing campaign to grow to at least 100 corporates in the next year. Co-founded in 2018 by Ronnie Kwesi Coleman, Stephanie Nachemja-Bunton and Max Farago, the company also plans to offer continuous training to designers, blending jobs with education. Meaningful Gigs aims to make working with African designers substantially better and has a stated goal of creating 100,000 jobs by 2028. The company raised $6 million in seed funding to accelerate growth, expand its designer base, invest in referral programs, and improve the experience for designers and corporate clients.
