- Understood Care
Led · Seed · Mar 2026
Understood Care offers an AI-native patient advocacy platform that pairs dedicated human advocates (with backgrounds like nursing, healthcare administration, and social work) with an AI co-pilot called Ava to handle administrative tasks and surface relevant resources. The platform helps patients schedule appointments, access benefits, complete applications, coordinate care, and resolve barriers such as transportation, housing, and medication affordability. Understood Care launched patient care in March 2025 and expanded across all 50 states within eight months, supporting thousands of patients and establishing relationships with three major Medicare Advantage plans. Active patients contact advocates about five times per month on average, while advocates proactively reach out about 11 times per month. The company bills through CMS-recognized advocacy codes and is building a proprietary multimodal dataset from interactions to improve its AI and workflows. Founded by Sam Wu and Kevin Bailey and based in New York, Understood Care plans to use new funding to accelerate Ava's development and deepen partnerships with providers, payers, and community organizations.
- Rasa Legal
Led · Seed · Mar 2026
Founded by attorney and access-to-justice advocate Noella Sudbury, Rasa Legal operates a legal technology platform that simplifies criminal record sealing and expungement. Since launching its platform in 2022, the company has helped more than 30,000 people access their criminal records and has successfully cleared over 5,000 records. Rasa currently offers services in Pennsylvania, Utah, and Arizona and plans continued nationwide expansion. The company positions itself as mission-driven and affordable, using a combined legal and technology approach to increase access to record-clearing. The recent seed investment is intended to fund scaling and broader geographic rollout; no revenue or valuation figures were disclosed in the announcement.
- Campus
Participated · Series B · Mar 2025
Campus delivers live, online classes taught by professors who also teach at leading universities, supported by a technology platform and a student model that provides dedicated advisors plus on-demand tutoring and coaching. The company teaches business and AI skills that students can take directly into the workforce or transfer to partnered four-year institutions. Campus notes transfer acceptances from schools including NYU, Penn State, Temple University, UC San Diego and Butler University. The company raised $46M in a Series B that brought total funding to $100M. Campus intends to use the proceeds to expand operations and its development efforts. The offering positions Campus to scale its program delivery and student support services. Campus operates as a fully accredited online community college that runs on CampusWire, the online learning software its founder built prior to launching the school. The company positions itself as a tech-enabled, lean alternative to traditional two-year colleges and emphasizes rapid curricular adaptability tied to startups and Silicon Valley. Founder Tade Oyerinde raised venture capital to scale what he describes as a high-risk, high-reward opportunity to modernize community college. Campus has attracted notable early backers from the tech sector who have personal ties to community college, which the company says helps with alignment and curriculum relevance. Fundraising was initially difficult amid broader higher-education headwinds, but the company now reports stronger inbound investor interest. Financially, Campus has raised more than $55 million in venture funding to date, including recent Series A activity. Campus.edu is an accredited college that offers live online and in-person associate degrees and certificate programs. Its Campus Scholars online degree programs are taught by a network of professors who also teach at leading universities and HBCUs such as Princeton, Spelman, NYU and Vanderbilt. Tuition is set below the maximum Pell Grant award so many students can avoid out-of-pocket costs, and students receive wraparound supports including a free laptop, free WiFi, unlimited tutoring, and individual support coaches. Campus has about 850 students enrolled today, more than 80 percent of whom are female, and most work at least 10 hours a week. Last year Campus acquired MTI College (founded in 1965) with approval from its accreditor, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), and the company reports the average Campus professor has increased annual income by about 20 percent. It has opened enrollment and will use the remainder of its $29 million to invest in its technology platform, recruit and retain professors, and further support its offerings to students.

Hiveclass hosts online courses for K-12 students covering fitness, sports, dance, yoga, nutrition, mindfulness and self-defense through short-form videos paired with quizzes. Educators access a teacher portal to view students and quiz answers, and the platform can be used to earn P.E. credits outside of class. Hiveclass markets primarily to public schools and libraries and says it aligns with national standards from SHAPE America. The company partners with more than 80 educational institutions and has over 13,000 students and teachers on the platform. Financially, Hiveclass has generated more than $2 million in revenue and expects an additional $1 million by next month; it is also exploring licensing agreements as an additional revenue stream. Product roadmaps include enhanced teacher-portal features, product development, and new services for students with special needs. Hiveclass is a New York-based mobile platform that provides kids access to original athlete-led training videos across sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, dance and self-defense. The platform also offers supplemental content on resilience, confidence building and other wellness topics. Content can be accessed remotely at home, on the field, or elsewhere, and the product includes a social-emotional learning component that fosters community-building within each sport and activity group. The company is led by co-founders Joe Titus (CEO) and Paul Suhr (CPO). Hiveclass is partnering with schools, libraries and other youth-serving institutions to expand access to top-tier sports training and physical education. It plans to use newly raised capital to accelerate growth and expand operations, team and product.
- Backpack Healthcare
Participated · Series A · May 2024
Backpack Healthcare (formerly Youme Healthcare) operates an online pediatric mental-health platform that combines an AI-powered emotion-monitoring app with live teletherapy delivered by licensed clinicians. The company’s algorithms assess mood signals and automatically match young users to therapists who specialize in their needs, creating individualized treatment plans. Beyond one-on-one pediatric sessions, Backpack offers family therapy, medication management, and live parent-training webinars covering topics such as cyberbullying and substance abuse. Interactive digital tools and gamified activities are used to keep children engaged and encourage consistent participation in care. With its newly secured capital, management plans to enhance the technology stack, broaden geographic reach, and deepen its teletherapy service portfolio. Equity and inclusion remain a stated priority, underscored by the addition of Robert Johnson, ESQ, to the advisory board to guide inclusive growth initiatives.
