Overview
MedyMatch Technology develops AI-powered "deep vision and advanced cognitive analytics" for medical imaging to help radiologists and emergency physicians recognise hard-to-spot abnormalities. The company is currently applying its technology to stroke diagnosis to help distinguish hemorrhagic from ischemic strokes so clinicians can choose correct treatments. MedyMatch says its algorithms compare billions of data points in images to provide an augmented second opinion for emergency-room physicians and radiologists. To further develop and market the technology, the Tel Aviv and Boston-based startup raised a $2 million seed round from private and institutional investors, including Genesis Capital Advisors and Exigent Alternative Capital. Management recently appointed Gene Saragnese as chairman and CEO; he previously led Philips Imaging Systems and held senior roles at GE Healthcare. CFO and co-founder Michael Rosenberg notes doctors misdiagnose stroke patients roughly 30% of the time, underscoring the clinical need MedyMatch targets.
