Founded in 2008, Meilele began as a store on Taobao and later launched its own independent B2C website, meilele.com. The company sells self-branded furniture through a hybrid online-and-offline model and has opened more than 50 offline showrooms nationwide. Meilele reports that its monthly sales have grown over tenfold in the past 12 months. With its product offering centered on self-branded furniture, the company aims to become the biggest online furniture commerce platform in China. Meilele plans to use the new capital to further expand product categories and service capabilities. The company has positioned itself as a disruptive e-commerce player in China’s multi-billion dollar furniture market.
