Membion manufactures membranes and specializes in membrane bioreactors (MBR) for wastewater treatment plants. The founders say they have further developed the technology to achieve significant operational and plant‑engineering advantages. Those improvements are expected to produce a quantum leap in the economic efficiency of the MBR process and accelerate broader implementation. The company was founded by CEO Dr. Klaus Vossenkaul and Dirk Volmering and is based in Roetgen, Germany. Membion raised €5M in funding to support its plans. The proceeds will be used to expand operations and advance its development efforts to scale its wastewater recycling solutions.
