Memic Innovative Surgery develops the Hominis® robotic-assisted surgical platform, featuring miniature humanoid-shaped robotic arms and biomimetic instruments with shoulder, elbow and wrist joints for multi-planar flexibility and 360° articulation. The Hominis system received De Novo marketing authorization from the U.S. FDA in February 2021 for single-site, natural-orifice laparoscopic-assisted transvaginal benign surgical procedures, including benign hysterectomy. Memic plans to commercialize Hominis in the U.S. and potentially other countries, and to expand marketing and sales efforts outside the U.S. The company will also continue R&D to expand its product portfolio and scale up manufacturing. A wholly owned subsidiary in Fort Lauderdale, FL supports global customer services, professional education, sales, marketing and clinical research. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Dvir Cohen and recently closed a $96M Series D financing to support these initiatives.
