Mentornaut is an online tutoring platform designed to help students bridge knowledge gaps and achieve their potential through personalised lessons. Founded in 2020 by Markus Meresma and Gregor Mändma, the product was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic as remote learning expanded. Since launching in Estonia the platform has seen 2,500 private lessons booked and received positive client feedback. Mentornaut recently launched in Kenya and recorded over 120 sign-up requests to tutor onboarding in the first few hours; it targets high pupil-to-teacher ratios in Africa (42:1) to provide supplementary tutoring. The company uses a proactive approach to grow its tutor base—recruiting students, schoolteachers, and experienced private tutors—to increase diversity and affordability. Mentornaut raised €200K to advance automation and streamline personalised education across Africa and Eastern Europe, with a long-term vision to create personal learning pathways for general education schools.
