MiNA Therapeutics

Translation & Innovation Hub, 84 Wood Lane, London, W12 0BZ, United Kingdom

Overview

MiNA Therapeutics develops small activating RNA (saRNA) therapeutics that harness innate mechanisms of gene activation. Its proprietary saRNA platform aims to restore or boost normal cellular function. The company is advancing an internal pipeline initially focused on immuno-oncology and genetic diseases. MiNA collaborates with leading pharmaceutical companies to apply its technology across a broad range of therapeutic areas. Proceeds from the recent equity investment will be used to advance and expand MiNA’s internal pipeline of saRNA therapeutics. The company is based in London. MiNA Therapeutics develops first-in-class small activating RNA (saRNA) medicines that harness an innate mechanism of gene activation to restore normal cellular function. Its lead candidate, MTL-CEBPA, is designed to reduce immune suppression in the tumour microenvironment and has been studied in clinical trials in more than 70 patients with advanced liver cancer. Clinical data reported that MTL-CEBPA combined with sorafenib improved response rate, duration and depth versus independently reported single-agent sorafenib. MiNA is also running TIMEPOINT, a Phase I/Ib study of MTL-CEBPA with pembrolizumab in advanced solid tumours and plans a Phase 2 study of MTL-CEBPA in combination with sorafenib for advanced liver cancer. The company is advancing a pipeline of proprietary saRNA programs across oncology and other severe metabolic and genetic diseases. The recent Series A equity financing of £23 million (~$30 million) will fund clinical development and pipeline research.
