Mindful Chef offers weekly recipe-boxes with 16 different, healthy, nutritionally balanced recipes that are gluten- and dairy-free and contain no refined carbs or sugars. Ingredients are fresh, high-quality and sustainably sourced from local farmers where possible; portions are provided to reduce food waste and supermarket trips. Since launching in 2015 the business has grown rapidly, delivering nearly two million meals and achieving a 178% rise in sales in the past year. The company has annualised sales of £10m and employs 27 people, and it donates one meal to a child in poverty for every meal purchased (more than 770,000 meals donated to date). Mindful Chef aims to make healthy eating easy and to expand its UK customer base as the recipe-box market grows. Tim Lee joined as CEO earlier in 2018.
