Overview
Mixhalo provides low-latency, in-person audio streaming technology that delivers synchronized audio to attendees at live events. During the pandemic the company focused on improving its core product and added Mixhalo Over Cellular and Mixhalo Rodeo to its platform. The company has secured integrations and high-profile deployments including Sting at Caesars Palace, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Los Angeles Football Club, the Sacramento Kings and the Buffalo Sabres, and its technology will be integrated into TSX Broadway. CEO John Vars says the new funding will go primarily toward hiring—especially in technology—and continued R&D. Mixhalo reports its sales pipeline grew beyond pre-pandemic levels as venues reengaged on innovation. Financially, the company announced a $24M Series B and previously raised $10.7M in a 2019 Series A. Mixhalo’s core product streams the same mix musicians receive in their in-ear monitors to audience members’ smartphones and earbuds via a dedicated wireless channel that does not rely on venue Wi‑Fi or cellular networks. The company launched two years ago at TechCrunch Disrupt NY and has since been deployed at Y Combinator Demo Day and on tours by Charlie Puth, Incubus and Metallica, as well as Aerosmith’s Las Vegas residency. Co-founded by Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger and violinist Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger, Mixhalo emphasizes listener control (individual volume) and the ability to offer multiple mixes or concurrent audio experiences. Marc Ruxin joined as CEO earlier this year, bringing prior music-startup experience. Mixhalo positions its business as selling enterprise software to event organizers and is targeting broader venues including conferences, sports, museums and megachurches. Financially, the company completed a $10.7M Series A and has now raised a total of $15M.
