MJN-EURO (Mjn-neuro) develops medical devices for seizure prediction and is adapting its technology toward earlier Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Its first product, Mjn-seras, is a 3D-printed earbud that records brain electrical activity via the auditory canal and notifies users 1–3 minutes before a likely epileptic seizure. The company is part of a three-year consortium (with Elausa Electrònica i Automatismes, Weird Kin and the Instituto Médico Privado) awarded €2.1M from the CDTI Misiones program to develop a minimally invasive wearable that uses AI to detect Alzheimer biomarkers 12–18 months earlier. MJN-EURO plans international expansion to the Netherlands, UK and Germany in the short term and to enter the U.S. from 2022 while pursuing regulatory trials. Financially, the company has an open €4M fundraising round for internationalization and has raised €3.3M since its 2014 founding (including an EU grant and a €600k financing round plus other aids, credits and contests). CEO and cofounder David Blánquez holds and will retain a majority stake. The company is based in Blanes (Girona) and has eleven employees. MJN Neuroserveis has developed a non-invasive, ear‑worn device that records an EEG-like signal and transmits data to a smartphone app which processes it to predict imminent epileptic seizures and send alerts. The startup has run a pilot with patients reporting excellent results and has agreements with GAES for production and distribution in Spain and Portugal. The founders—Salva Gutiérrez, David Blánquez (CEO) and Xavier Raurich—have been working on the project since 2012. With the new funding, MJN plans a clinical study at Clínica Corachan and other hospitals as the final step before commercial launch. The company intends to begin commercialization in Spain in the second half of 2018. The raise will also allow the team to expand its engineers, algorithm researchers and app developers to complete the product development and trials.
