MMB Networks, founded in 2008 and based in Toronto, provides a line of hardware and software products built around its core RapidConnect embedded software platform. RapidConnect is a drop-in platform that lets connected device vendors automate networking and provide interoperability across ZigBee 3.0, Thread, Weave, HomeKit and other protocols. The company's product portfolio includes drop-in 802.15.4 (ZigBee and Thread) modules, wireless USB sticks, low-cost network bridges, and multi-protocol connected home gateways. The business is led by CEO Tim Angus and EVP Corporate Development Daniel Moneta. MMB raised $7M in a Series B and will use the funds to expand operations. It also has a strategic agreement with NXP to co-develop NXP silicon-based IoT hardware powered by RapidConnect.
