MokiMobility is a Salt Lake City cloud-based mobile device management (MDM) company that has shifted from a broad MDM approach to focus on single-purpose devices such as iPads used as ordering kiosks and POS terminals. Its core product, MokiManage, is designed to provision and secure deployments of customer-facing iOS and Android hardware. The company says this focused approach addresses a different set of needs than enterprise device provisioning and aims to support retailers and restaurants deploying multiple devices. MokiMobility recently announced a partnership with Revel Systems to integrate MokiManage into Revel’s iPad POS offering, a move that the company says will improve multi-device management and PCI compliance for Revel customers. The company was founded a little over a year before this article and is positioned to capitalize on rising demand for self-checkout and in-store tablet deployments. Financially, MokiMobility completed a $2 million seed funding round to support its growth and product integration efforts.
