Molly aggregates information posted across a user's online profiles into a centralized, queryable knowledge base. Its first product is an AMA feature that scrapes answers from sources like Product Hunt, Medium, Twitter and Instagram to pre-populate profiles. The startup was founded by Chris Messina, Esther Crawford and Ethan Sutin over the summer and joined Y Combinator's Winter 2018 batch. Future plans include integrations such as an Alexa skill or chatbot, a permissioned/time-limited sharing model for friends, and broader public profiles. Molly also uses occasional quizzes to capture user answers and forwards questions it can't answer to the user for manual responses. The team says it is focused on finding product–market fit and is too early to prioritize monetization, though it has hinted future revenue could come from personalized recommendations.
