The site emphasizes approachable, entertaining personal‑finance content—what the founder calls “BuzzFeed meets personal finance”—alongside its comparison functionality. Founded six years ago and headquartered in Singapore, MoneySmart expanded into Indonesia last year via the acquisition of KreditAja. Its sites now record roughly 750,000 visits per month in Singapore, 650,000 in Indonesia and about one million unique users combined. The company plans cautious, localized expansion and intends to enter two new markets next year, with the Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia under consideration. MoneySmart also aims to integrate services with Singapore Press Holdings following the investment, and to explore partnerships with SPH’s car and property classifieds.
