Monsieur is a robotic bartender — a compact machine that mixes programmed cocktails via an Android tablet and a set of pumps. The system mixes drinks in proper proportion, can be upgraded and controlled remotely, and maintains a log of what was served for venue billing. Monsieur launched at TechCrunch Disrupt and is led by co-founder and CEO Barry Givens. The team has deployed beta units at restaurants and bars in Atlanta and is piloting with several NBA arenas, a top hotel brand (over 4,000 locations), and a movie theater chain (over 500 locations). The company says it will be in at least three NBA arenas this basketball season, reaching arenas with a combined capacity of over 110,000 attendees. Monsieur raised $2 million in seed funding to build more drink robots for bars, restaurants, and home use.
