MoonBikes produces 100% electric, silent snow bikes and bills itself as a leader in the newly described "Snow Mobility" vertical. Its bikes can climb slopes up to a 40% grade, reach about 42 km/h, and weigh just shy of 120 kg. Battery life is roughly 1.5 hours on a single battery or about 3 hours with an optional second battery. The company is based in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and has opened an office in Boulder, Colorado to pursue the large U.S. snowmobile market. MoonBikes is aiming to replicate deployments at European ski centres including Avoriaz, Courchevel and Val d'Isere/Tignes. The startup has raised approximately $6.5 million total since the beginning of 2019.
