Mover is a cloud data migration and backup service that simplifies moving and replicating data between cloud storage providers. It supports Dropbox, Google Drive, SkyDrive, SugarSync, Box and Amazon S3 and can transfer MySQL databases and websites over FTP. The service is positioned for both migrations between providers and as a backup solution that replicates data across multiple cloud storage services. Mover launched out of Vancouver’s Growlab accelerator just under a year ago and is participating in Amplify’s accelerator in Los Angeles. The company has moved over 300 million files and currently performs about 5,000 transfers each day. With $1 million in new seed funding, management plans to hire sales and marketing staff, scale operations, expand partnerships, and broaden its service offering.
