The company says it experienced exponential growth during the pandemic, logging 8,000 classes and 1 million class-minutes completed in March. Moxie provides instructors with CRM and payment tools plus licensed music playlists to support class delivery. With the new funding it plans UX improvements including a curated selection of top classes, tools to better connect users to instructors, and class previews. It will also launch “Moxie Benefits” (in partnership with Stride Health) to provide insurance and other benefits to instructors, and “Moxie Teams” to let instructors form small businesses on the platform. Moxie is a live-streaming fitness marketplace that connects fitness instructors with students and enables instructors to broadcast live and recorded classes on a subscription basis. Instructors keep 85% of their revenue and can set their own prices; classes have ranged from $5 to $10. Moxie provides licensed music playlists, audio-damping technology for when instructors speak, CRM tools for tracking and communicating with students, and automatic payment collection via Stripe. The team of 45 employees pivoted the product to fitness amid COVID-19 and has since attracted more than 2,000 instructors offering over 6,500 classes. Customers have spent an average of $60 per month on the platform over the last four weeks, according to the company. Moxie stores and streams video on AWS and has raised seed capital to support its growth.
