It is on track to generate £22 million in turnover this year with year-on-year growth above 60%. The company will use the £5m funding to scale up operations in the US and Germany. MPB operates a marketplace that lets photographers and videographers buy and sell high-end used photo and video equipment through a single platform. Led by CEO Matt Barker, the company offers both buy and sell services and processes listings end-to-end. In the most recent financial year it processed 25,000 products totaling £8.4 million and is generating in excess of £2m of quotes every month in the UK. MPB employs around 40 people in its UK office and will be opening a New York office in July. The company plans to use the new funding to expand the platform and launch into the US and Germany.
