  • Sovato

    Led · Series B · Nov 2025

Santa Barbara-based Sovato provides software and connectivity that lets health systems safely scale telesurgery programs by linking expert surgeons to distant robotic surgical systems. The platform is device-agnostic, already integrated with several leading robots, and has proven safety and feasibility in pre-clinical cases conducted hundreds to thousands of miles apart both domestically and internationally. By allowing a hub-and-spoke model in which one surgical team can serve multiple sites, Sovato helps address global surgeon shortages and geographic disparities in care. The company is collaborating with healthcare providers, robotic manufacturers, and standards bodies to establish operational guidelines for remote robotic surgery programs. Market tailwinds are strong, with the global robotic surgery sector projected to grow 12.4% annually through 2030 and more than 246 companies active in the space. Founded by Cynthia Perazzo and surgical robotics pioneer Dr. Yulun Wang, Sovato has raised $41 million to date, including its recent Series B, to accelerate product development and deepen industry partnerships.

  • Farmer J

    Led · Equity · Oct 2025

Farmer J is a London-born fast-casual restaurant chain known for vegetable-led “fieldtrays” of grilled proteins, seasonal vegetables, and other dishes cooked on-site and served quickly to time-pressed office workers. Founded in 2014 by former banker Jonathan Recanati and his wife Ali, the brand fills what it sees as a gap for healthy, affordable meals in dense urban areas. It has built a strong following in the City of London and is now preparing to open a 2,700 sq ft flagship in Manhattan later this year, alongside three additional London units before year-end. Management believes the U.S. fast-casual market offers significant white space and views international growth as essential to building resilience. Investor enthusiasm centers on Farmer J’s emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and in-store cooking, which are viewed as competitive advantages over incumbent lunch chains. Operationally, the business reported a 55 % rise in sales in 2024, while EBITDA more than doubled during the same period, with expectations for similar improvement next year. These metrics underpin the company’s expansion plans and highlight its momentum in the post-pandemic dining landscape.
