MyCare, doing business as SAMI Health, builds information solutions for hospitals and healthcare institutions centered on SAMI™, a proprietary search engine that accesses patient medical information residing in any EMR system and analyzes that data in near real time. SAMI™ includes Real-time Core Measurement Compliance, Clinical Decision Support, Personalized Genomic Medicine, and a Patient-Family Portal, and integrates with virtually all EMR systems. The product has been deployed at Bridgeport Hospital and is under evaluation by Yale New Haven Health System. Led by CEO and co-founder Matt Walton, the company is developing additional modules in response to feedback from clinical users, patients, and families. SAMI Health recently raised an additional $750K in funding, including a $375K follow-on from Connecticut Innovations' Seed Investment Fund, with participation from Intersection Health Partners. The company intends to use the new proceeds to expand around the country. MyCare provides software that helps hospitals improve healthcare information access and reporting. Its initial product, Smart Access to Medical Information (SAMI), is a proprietary search engine that allows users to access data residing in any electronic medical record and analyze that data in near real-time. SAMI is system-agnostic and is layered on top of an institution’s existing core EMR systems. MyCare has developed four application modules in the SAMI solution: real-time core measurement compliance, clinical decision support, personalized genomic medicine, and a patient-family portal. SAMI is currently being deployed within the Yale New Haven Health System. The company is led by CEO Matt Walton and has raised $1m in seed funding from Connecticut Innovations and Intersection Health Partners; in conjunction with the funding Dan Wagner of Connecticut Innovations will join MyCare’s board of directors.
