Overview
MyEdu is an Austin, TX-based student academic platform that offers degree planning, credit management, workload tracking and social applications. Founded in 2008 by CEO and Chairman Michael Crosno, the company focuses on increasing graduation rates, decreasing time to graduation and supporting career readiness. MyEdu will receive a $10m investment from the University of Texas System. It intends to use the proceeds to extend its platform with enhanced functionality. As part of the partnership, MyEdu will provide its platform to students across UT System institutions. The company's investors also include Bain Capital Ventures. MyEdu offers a suite of online products that streamline the student lifecycle from selecting a college through earning a degree. Its tools include detailed course descriptions, grade distributions, official course evaluations, student reviews, a schedule planner, a graduation/degree roadmap, and an academic progress dashboard. The service aims to replace traditional college advisors by helping students build and follow personalized roadmaps tied to career goals. More than 2 million students at 750 universities have used MyEdu to earn their degree. The company charges a $20 annual subscription for access to the full academic suite. Colleges' rapid adoption of web technologies is cited as a tailwind for broader university adoption of MyEdu's tools.
