NetGuardians

Avenue des Sciences 13, Yverdon-les-Bains, Vaud, 1400, Switzerland

Overview

NetGuardians offers an AI-based enterprise risk and fraud-mitigation platform that detects out-of-character transactions by learning customer and staff behaviour. Its managed-learning and Collective AI technology is delivered as software-as-a-service and claims to prevent fraudulent payments in real time. The company plans to use new capital to strengthen its position in existing markets and further develop its SaaS subscription model. NetGuardians says the funds will support meeting rising demand, reaching more clients, and exploring new markets. It serves institutions in more than 30 countries and counts over 60 banks, including UOB and Pictet & Cie, as customers. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company also has offices in Singapore, Kenya, and Poland and employs more than 90 staff. The announcement emphasises the platform’s fast deployment for protecting banks from scams, account takeover, internal fraud, and other threats. NetGuardians offers a Big Data technology platform that correlates and analyzes behaviors across an entire bank system for risk modeling and fraud prevention. The company focuses on machine learning and AI to help banks improve customer experience, operations, emerging-risk prevention and cost reduction. It recently launched a joint research project with the Swiss School of Engineering and Management Vaud (HEIG-VD) to further develop its ML/AI capabilities. NetGuardians plans to use the new funding for continued global sales and marketing expansion and further investment in its proprietary behavioral software platform. Over the past 18 months the company acquired 20 new clients across 14 countries, opened offices and local teams in Singapore and Kenya, and doubled headcount to 40 employees. The business is led by CEO Joel Winteregg and COO Raffael Maio and is based in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland. NetGuardians develops behavioral-analysis software for operational risk and fraud control in the banking industry, using methods to identify abnormal activity and prevent information leaks. The company has commercial traction and is growing across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Founded in 2007 and based in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland, NetGuardians was the first company spun out of the HEIG-VD incubator. The firm raised CHF 5 million to industrialize global commercialization. Management plans to triple the installed base within 18 months, hire additional staff, and strengthen sales, marketing, client services and risk-consulting offerings across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The capital will also be used to improve existing customer services and to reinforce the company's brand. NetGuardians develops NG-Screener, a high-tech solution that integrates with application software—particularly banking platforms—to detect possible fraud, information theft and internal malfeasance while improving transparency of IT activities. The company originated from the incubator of the Haute Ecole d'Ingénierie et de Gestion du Canton de Vaud and has sold its solution to several security‑sensitive customers. Early development was supported with public financing, and the founders say the product has begun shipping on projects across Switzerland, Africa and the Middle East. To support international commercial expansion and newly established partnerships, NetGuardians is recruiting to strengthen its commercial and technical teams. The company positions its offering around security, internal control and audit, targeting regulated industries that face growing regulatory requirements.
