RTDT Laboratories designs ultra-thin, lightweight wireless sensor patches that integrate microelectronic sensors and proprietary algorithms to capture real-time aerodynamic and structural data from wind turbine blades. The patches measure parameters such as aerodynamic pressure, acceleration, vibration, mechanical load and temperature, synchronize timestamps, and transmit data wirelessly to a gateway and then to the cloud to build a digital twin of the blade. Their software suite performs calibration, local and global analyses (including blade kinematics and pressure coefficients), visual analyses and decision recommendations for control, design optimization and maintenance. The patches attach with removable tape without drilling, are offered in two sizes (400×160×4 mm and 160×160×4 mm), and include photovoltaic cells and intelligent battery management for ultra-low-power operation. RTDT was founded in 2022 as an ETH Zurich spin-off by Imad Abdallah, Aris Mukherjee and Konstantinos Tatsis and is pursuing pilot implementations and commercial deployments in the wind-energy sector with a target for large-scale rollout by early 2027.

Aylight develops chip-scale multiwavelength lasers that generate multiple precisely spaced wavelengths from a single chip using a frequency-modulated comb (FM comb) architecture. The design reduces the need for multiple discrete lasers in optical communication systems and is intended to be manufacturable in existing semiconductor photonics foundries. The company targets AI data-center optical interconnects and high-precision frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) sensing for applications such as semiconductor inspection, metrology, industrial automation, and precision robotics. Aylight was founded in 2025 by Bahareh Marzban and Dmitry Kazakov following research at ETH Zürich. The startup plans to use its recent pre-seed funding to build its first foundry prototypes and grow its R&D team as it moves from research toward initial products.

Founded in 2016 in Zürich, ANYbotics develops the ANYmal family of quadruped robots designed for autonomous industrial inspections across oil & gas, mining, power generation and other complex facilities. The robots use an AI-driven software stack for fully autonomous navigation, collision avoidance and stair-climbing, allowing them to detect overheating equipment, abnormal vibrations and gas leaks while gathering real-time data. More than 200 units of the first-generation ANYmal are already deployed worldwide, conducting thousands of inspections each week for customers such as bp, Equinor, ENI, Petrobras, Siemens Energy and AWS. The company is preparing to launch ANYmal X, billed as the world’s first Ex-certified legged robot for explosive environments, with commercial rollout targeted for 2026. ANYbotics aims to scale global operations and expand into additional heavy-industry verticals, leveraging its robots to enhance safety, efficiency and sustainability. The firm has raised over €127 million to date, supporting rapid growth and product development.

Its technology focuses on the RAN physical layer—encoding and decoding signals—to address latency, power efficiency, and error-correction challenges unique to space-based 5G. The company is working with customers and partners including Lockheed Martin, which is incorporating AccelerComm’s solutions into an Advanced Regenerative 5G NR NTN Base Station slated to be the first regenerative 5G payload in orbit.
