Overview
NexCure is a Boston-based healthcare startup that aims to remove geographic, financial, and logistical barriers to life-saving cell and gene therapies. The company is building purpose-built outpatient clinics coupled with a proprietary platform that standardizes protocols, automates care coordination, and integrates AI-powered patient selection, remote monitoring, and operational intelligence. By translating hospital-grade clinical rigor into community settings, NexCure seeks to expand access beyond the ~3 % of U.S. hospitals that currently administer CAR-T treatments. Its model is intended to serve patients, referring oncologists, health systems, payers, and manufacturers who need reliable, scalable sites of care. Founded by Raven, RA Capital’s healthcare incubator, the firm is led by an experienced team including former Johns Hopkins Medicine CEO Paul Rothman (Board Chair), CEO Jennifer Smith, CMO Sophie Papa, and CBO Anish More. NexCure has just emerged from stealth with a $19 million Series A round that will fund build-out of its outpatient infrastructure and technology platform. No operating metrics such as revenue or patient volumes have yet been disclosed.
