Overview

Nexus eWater has developed a patented on-site water and energy recycler that captures and cleans household grey water for approved reuse and harvests heat from that grey water to heat fresh water. The system is available for both new homes and retrofits and is being positioned as an affordable, robust solution that reduces in-home water use by up to 40%, wastewater by 70%, and water-heating energy by 75%. Nexus projects an estimated U.S. market opportunity of about $15 billion annually for the product suite. Customers and pilots include new-home builders, water districts, cities, energy utilities and existing homeowners, with pilot projects and high-profile installations in California including work with KB Home’s Double ZeroHouse programs. The company is launching in drought-affected California and plans to use recent financing to complete the initial product roll-out across California and the U.S. The system was developed in Canberra, Australia by co-founders Andrew Hermann, Tom Wood and Craig Richmond and the company is described as a U.S.-Australian business.
