c/o Alfa Laval Innovation House, Maskinvej 5, Søborg, 2860, Denmark

Overview

NitroVolt is developing a container-sized Nitrolyzer system that combines air, water, and renewable electricity in an electrocatalytic ammonia synthesis process. The company aims to decentralise ammonia production by producing green ammonia directly at farms, reducing distribution emissions and supply-chain vulnerability. Its process removes fossil fuels from production, making the ammonia 100 percent renewable, carbon-free, and competitive with current ammonia prices. With a newly secured seed round, NitroVolt plans to take its lab technology to the real world, scale the technology, and build a demonstration unit on a farm. The funding will also be used to identify and forge partnerships and suppliers to support scaling and system construction. CEO Suzanne Zamany Andersen highlights both environmental impacts through CO2 abatement and societal impacts by improving access to nitrogen fertilizer in exposed regions. NitroVolt is developing a container-sized ammonia synthesis unit aimed at giving farmers control over on-site fertilizer production using only air, water and renewable electricity. The company targets the agricultural sector with a product designed to decarbonize nitrogen-based fertilizer production and reduce logistics costs and supply-chain vulnerabilities. NitroVolt says the system will make farm-level production more resilient to external factors and political issues. Led by CEO Suzanne Zamany Andersen and CTO Mattia Saccoccio, the team is positioning the product as a locally produced alternative to centralized fertilizer supply. The company raised €750K in pre-seed funding to scale production and expand its business reach. NitroVolt is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
