NodeSource plans to use new funding to rapidly grow its engineering, support, and global go-to-market teams to better serve customers. The team includes early and core contributors to the Node.js project and members of the Technical Steering Committee. NodeSource offers N|Solid, an enterprise-grade Node.js runtime platform, plus professional services including N|Support, architectural evaluations, and Node.js upgrade management. Led by Co-Founder and CEO Joe McCann, the company targets Fortune 500 and other global corporations adopting Node.js. It intends to use the new funding to accelerate development of products and services for those customers. Since raising a $3.4M seed round last year, NodeSource has released N|Solid, grown its customer base by more than 120%, and signed a partnership with Google to offer N|Solid on Google Cloud Platform. The company operates as a distributed organization with team members in Asia, Australia, Europe, South America, New York, San Francisco and Austin. The new capital is intended to support continued product development and enterprise sales efforts. NodeSource builds a corporate software development toolkit for the Node.js programming language. Its products aim to help programmers take advantage of scalable, service-oriented and microservices architectures. The company already counts enterprise customers including Uber, PayPal, Fitbit and Netflix. NodeSource plans to use new financing to release new products and to support partnerships with undisclosed Fortune 500 companies. Adviser Brendan Eich is affiliated with the company, and CEO and co‑founder Joe McCann positions the product as a response to monolithic Java applications that slow development. Financially, NodeSource recently raised a $3 million seed round to fund product development and partnerships.
