Overview

Normunity is a biotechnology company creating novel anti-cancer therapies that address untapped biology at the interface of the immune system and tumors. Its lead program, NRM-823, is a first-in-class T cell engager that binds a novel, highly specific tumor target expressed on multiple solid tumors. The company plans to initiate a Phase 1 clinical trial of NRM-823 in 2H 2025 and to advance other modalities against the same tumor-specific target, including antibody-drug conjugates and radiotheranostics. Normunity is building a pipeline of therapeutic antibodies, bispecific antibodies, and payload-carrying biologics derived from its proprietary target discovery process conducted in collaboration with the lab of Professor Lieping Chen at Yale. The recent $75 million Series B financing will be used to advance NRM-823 into the clinic and to broaden the pipeline of programs that address tumor-specific immune suppression. Normunity is located in Boston, MA and New Haven, CT. Normunity is creating a new class of precision immuno-oncology agents called immune normalizers that aim to free the body’s normal immunity against cancer. Its initial pipeline programs target mechanisms that drive the exclusion of T cells from immune-sensitive tumors and seek to render 'cold' tumors immune-responsive. The company was launched from an academic–biotech partnership with the Lieping Chen lab at Yale School of Medicine and leverages proprietary discovery platforms from that lab. Normunity says its collaborative, iterative model jointly interrogates and validates emerging targets preclinically and clinically. Leadership includes founding CEO Rachel Humphrey and scientific founder Lieping Chen, and the team is described as experienced in discovery and clinical advancement of cancer drugs. The Series A financing announced will enable advancement of the emerging pipeline into the clinic and expansion of the lab-based discovery platforms.
