nT-Tao Compact Fusion Power

3 Hanagar, Hod Hasharon, Central District, 4501306, Israel

Overview

nT-Tao develops a compact, scalable fusion reactor roughly the size of a shipping container, designed to be integrated across industrial sites, small towns and off-grid locations. The company leverages both tokamak and stellarator approaches and is currently in the experimental phase of C1, the first of its Series C prototypes. nT-Tao plans to use recent funding to develop and test its reactor, expand its team of physicists, and pursue regional and global partnerships. The company announced a $22M Series A in February led by Delek US, Next Gear Ventures and Mayer Cars & Trucks Group, with additional participation from Honda, the Grantham Foundation, J-IMPACT, East Innovate and OurCrowd. nT-Tao was co-founded by Oded Gour-Lavie, Doron Weinfeld and Boaz Weinfeld and is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Its stated goal is to provide a compact and scalable nuclear fusion solution to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and address limitations of existing renewables. NT-Tao develops a compact and scalable fusion energy solution based on a proprietary ultra-fast plasma heating method that it says enables higher plasma density and greater energy-production efficiency. The company combines advanced technologies to make fusion more effective compared with other reactor approaches. NT-Tao intends to use its recent funding to scale its team, accelerate prototype development across its pipeline, and build a new research facility. The firm raised a $22M Series A in the round, bringing total funding to $28M. NT-Tao is co-founded by Oded Gour-Lavie, Doron Weinfeld, and Boaz Weinfeld and is based in Tel Aviv, Israel. The company positions its technology as a step toward enabling a transition away from conventional energy sources such as oil, natural gas, and coal.
