Nugg-it

520 S Main Street, Suite 2411-C, Building 24, Akron, OH, 44311, United States

Overview

Nugg-it makes a wrist-worn, always-on device that continuously buffers the last 60 seconds of audio so users can touch the device to save and wirelessly transfer short clips to a smartphone app for editing, saving, and sharing. The team has engaged Design 2 Matter (D2M) for industrial design; D2M narrowed designs to two final concepts and was slated to produce a prototype in March. The company was focused on aesthetics to ensure the device is wearable by both men and women and planned to begin manufacturing in late fall. Founders include former Procter & Gamble marketer and engineer Mike Sarow and social media entrepreneur Matthew Dooley. Nugg-it positions itself within the growing wearable-technology market and aims to make short audio clips as shareable as microtext. As of the article, the company completed a $600,000 seed round to fund design and development.
