NUMA

26 Rue Henry Monnier, Paris, Île-de-France, 75009, France

Overview

Originally launched 15 years ago as a nonprofit, NUMA has evolved into a private accelerator that backs early-stage startups, stages hundreds of tech events, and advises large corporations on digital transformation. The organization now takes a 3 % equity stake in each company that completes its NUMA Sprint program, counting alumni such as Sketchfab, Lima, and Infinit. Beyond its Paris base, NUMA is building a global network of partner accelerators, with outposts already operating in Moscow and Bengaluru. Management aims to support 15 accelerators and help 700 startups worldwide before 2019, deliberately focusing expansion outside the United States. Previously financed by corporate sponsorships from firms like BNP Paribas and Orange, NUMA is shifting toward equity funding and revenue-sharing arrangements with its international partners. Recent capital infusions total $4.5 million, giving the organization more flexibility to pursue growth initiatives. These funds also reduce NUMA’s dependence on annual sponsorship budgets and better align its incentives with the startups it serves.
