Oasis Labs

1 Sansome St, San Francisco, California, 94104, United States

Overview

Oasis Labs is a distributed ledger project created by security researchers from UC Berkeley and MIT to enable privacy-preserving smart contracts that compute over encrypted data. The platform combines trusted hardware (Keystone enclave work) and cryptographic techniques such as secure multiparty computation and differential-privacy tooling the team has previously used in production at Uber. Oasis separates execution from consensus to scale: proof-of-stake–elected committees handle compute, storage, and consensus independently, with consensus committees verifying computation results. The team plans a fully open-source trusted-hardware enclave implementation called Keystone and aims to get the product into developers' hands to inform platform evolution. Token economics mirror Ethereum’s model, using a single token to pay gas for compute and storage, with pricing mechanisms intended to keep fees accessible as the network scales. The company has secured significant pre-sale financing to support development and go-to-market efforts.
