Overview
OLGRAM is a biotechnology company developing marine-derived molecules—peptides and a Marine Sulfated Polysaccharide (MSP)—for the prevention and control of chronic bacterial infections. Its programs specifically target persister (dormant) bacterial cells that cause infectious relapses and contribute to antibiotic treatment failure. The company is characterizing, modifying and optimizing peptides and MSP to create a first‑in‑class anti‑infectious class capable of eliminating bacteria responsible for chronic relapses. OLGRAM has two product candidates and will first focus on cystic fibrosis (35% of patients suffer chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections; ~56,000 patients in Europe and the USA) and later target nosocomial infections in immunocompromised head‑trauma patients (~750,000 patients in Europe and the USA). The company completed a €1.5m seed round to accelerate development of its two flagship programs. Founded in 2019 and based in Bréhan, OLGRAM aims ultimately to address all chronic infectious pathologies requiring elimination of dormant bacteria.
