Overview

omni:us offers an AI-driven end-to-end insurance claims automation platform, led by its omni:us Digital Claims Adjuster (DCA) AIaaS product. The DCA integrates with legacy applications and core insurance systems such as Guidewire, Sapiens and SAP to enable seamless claims automation. The company provides integrated reference claims processes for P&C and Health and an AI-powered claims decision catalogue that it says can reduce process costs by up to 35% while increasing settlement speed and customer satisfaction. Following a recent financing, omni:us plans to further invest in its end-to-end claims automation technology and to expand its team and presence in Europe and the UK. Founded in 2015, omni:us employs 68 AI and insurance experts, is headquartered in Berlin, and has offices in the UK and the USA. The company is ISO 27001 certified and works with partners including Capgemini, PwC, IBM, Guidewire and Microsoft. omni:us is a Berlin-based AI-powered insurtech startup. It develops AI-driven solutions for the insurance industry. The company has received an additional $13 million as a Series A extension to drive its expansion into the US market. The extension was led by CommerzVentures and joined by Viola FinTech and Uniqa Ventures. A few months earlier omni:us received a €1.6 million grant from the EU Commission’s European Innovation Council. Co-founder and CEO Sofie Quidenus-Wahlforss has discussed the company's plans in a recent interview. The new funding is intended to support the company's US expansion. omni:us is an AI-first insurtech that develops a claims platform to read, process and understand a wide variety of insurance documents, including inconsistent and handwritten files. The company focuses specifically on the insurance industry and trains its AI for document recognition and data extraction in claims management. omni:us positions its technology to boost efficiency, enable faster and more empathic claim resolution, and free up human agents for customer-facing work. The team includes co-founder and CEO Sofie Quidenus-Wahlforss, Head of Solution Architecture Kai Wegner, and VP Product Thomas Hauschild, among others with deep industry experience. The company recently obtained ISO 27001 certification, reflecting its emphasis on securing sensitive insurance data. omni:us plans to continue driving implementation of its AI solutions as adoption in the insurance sector moves from interest to deployment. omni:us builds an AI-powered platform that automatically categorises incoming documents and extracts structured data to automate claims processing and optimise quotation workflows. Its system is already used by several large insurers, including Allianz, Baloise, and AmTrust. The company raised $22.5 million in a funding round from Target Global, MMC Ventures and Talis Capital, with participation from existing investors Unbound and Anthemis. It plans to use the proceeds to further develop its cognitive systems and AI platform. omni:us intends to expand into the US later this year. The company is based in Berlin. omni:us (formerly SearchInk) offers AI products omni:us Claim and omni:us Policy that classify documents and extract data from digital files and handwriting for insurers. The platform is positioned to reduce manual interventions through supervised machine learning and can be deployed into an organization within weeks. The company says it works with over half of the top 10 insurance providers in the DACH region. Customers report up to an 80% improvement in claims turnaround time and operations at roughly 75% of original costs; one client saw a 90% speedup in comparisons at 20% of the prior cost. The AI can analyze policies with annual values as low as €250, enabling automation of low-value work. omni:us plans to raise another funding round this year, open a U.S. office, and grow its team, and it sees potential to expand into finance, manufacturing, transportation and healthcare.
